SOS Membership FAQ’s
Q: How can I become a member?
1. In person – Just stop by
the Membership office at the Birch Aquarium at Scripps. You will receive
your membership packet then. We will have you signed up in no time and on
your way to enjoying your many benefits of membership. Need Directions?
2. By phone – Please call the Membership Office at
(858) 534-5771. The Membership Office is open Monday thru Friday from 9:00am
to 5:00pm. Purchases by phone will be accepted with a major credit card.
3. On line
4. By mail – Just print the
membership application and mail with payment to:

Q: When will I receive my membership packet?
You will receive your membership packet within 2-3
weeks. Please call the SOS Membership Office at (858) 534-5771 if you
haven’t received your membership packet after this time period.
Q: Can I visit before I receive my card?
Of course! Just stop by the Membership Office at
the Birch Aquarium at Scripps to verify your purchase.
Q: Can I lend my membership card to a friend or
family member?
No. Memberships are non-transferable and are valid
only for the person whose name appears on the card.
Q: Who is included on a family membership?
The two adults listed on the membership cards and
any children or grandchildren age 17 and under. The number of children
or grandchildren is listed on the membership card.
Q: Do members receive free parking?
3-hour courtesy parking is now available at the
Birch Aquarium at Scripps.
Q: Is my membership tax deductible?
Yes. 100% of your membership is a tax deductible
charitable donation.
Q: What are the hours?
The Aquarium is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm every
day. The Aquarium will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s
Days. The Aquarium Bookshop is open daily from 9:30am to 5:00pm.
Q: Where is the Aquarium located? How do I get
there?
The Birch Aquarium at Scripps is located at 2300
Expedition Way, La Jolla, CA 92037.
Directions:
From Interstate 5
Exit La Jolla Village Drive, head west
La Jolla Village Drive will become North Torrey Pines Road (approx. 1
mile)
Turn left on Expedition Way
Parking is to your left, at the bottom of the hill.
